Welcome to NYSEG Sucks.com
A Central NY power authority awareness website
Have You Ever Wondered Why...
- The cost of heating and powering your home has become no longer affordable to many people
- You don't get credited interest for over-estimated invoices you paid
- The power company can hang a bare wire charged with 7000 volts right over your head & that's OK
- A failure to trim trees in Ohio shut down 9,300 square miles of electrical service in 2003
- 100,000 people in Queens, NY were left without power for nine days straight in 2006
- The power companies continue to make no advancements in the technology used to deliver power even though the service costs up to 5 times more than other public services
The Objective
The purpose of this website is to bring awareness to the ever-growing "financial black hole" better known as the national power grid and the corporate institutions that operate it. While the cost of maintaining this system keeps increasing exponentially, its reliability and safety keeps diminishing. Many argue that the deregulation of the power authorities in the early 1990's is partly to blame. Although this website mimics my local power authority (NYSEG), it should be noted that the problem really applies to every power authority across the continental United States that participates in the national power grid technology. This website is not intended to bash or degrade any individual or the NYSEG employees themselves.
